You have one of the rarest Santana ever built! That is a Nissan Santana. These cars were assembled by Nissan, the Nissan Santana has a rear plate very similar as Quantum did in the USA. The only problem, a big one, is the rust. You should save that precious car, as I told before, one of the rarest Santana´s ever built. I knok that will take a long time and a lot of money, but wil worthwhile.
Grettings from Mexico. I leave these pictures to you ;)

Update And Possible Bootlid!!!!

Thanks VWCorsar and Tilman!

I am having trouble finding a parts place online in China....

I Do however have a friend in BERLIN for the next 3 days and they can ship one to me if someone could point me in the right direction. I will send them the money and they will ship it... Need boot latch, lock and key also!!!!!!!!

And this forum does not notify me of responses, and my German is lacking so I do not know where to click to tell it I want responses emailed, if that is an option... I will try and check back today and tomorrow....
Maybe I should include China in my world travels...

Tilman might have the answer...

Three days is not a lot of time to organize....
Normally i would phone a local wrecker, called "Autoverwertung" and ask, if they have got a "Kofferraumklappe" for an VW Santana. If you are lucky the lock is still installed, only the key should be changed. But both should be available new, aftermarket or at a dealers place.
AND there's this address:

They are importing VW originalparts for Santana/Passat B2 from China to Germany. I am quite shure they have what you need, new from china. The contactaddress is listed at the right of the hp.

Alas, I will be in Berlin on a business trip next week Tuesday to Thursday... - but then your friend will obviously have left already, as far as I understand? Getting a (slightly rusty) trunk lid to Berlin should not be too much of a problem - but definitely not in time, I fear.

I still think it is easier to buy a brand new boot lid at an SVW dealer somewhere in China. From what I see at the Chinese 2012 Santana parked in front of my door at the moment, the boot lid does not seem to have changed at all since our German Santana production and should also fit the Japanese Nissan Santana (that is, if the German lid fits!). You only have some person you know in China (really - nobody? No Australian relatives there on business at all? Hard to believe...) walk to an SVW dealer, buy a boot lid, and take it home as some extra luggage on the next return trip to AUS.

I am pretty sure you will hardly find any professional online offers for a boot lid, even in China. Parts of this size are not the usual stuff handled by mail.

The lock for the boot lid, by the way, is also used at the Golf Mk.1 Convertible (NOT the hatchback limousine) - I understand the convertible was sold Down Under as well?

so much for now,
kind regards from Wolfsburg

P.S.: I now set your profile on the board to "Auto-abonnement", you will be notified about new answers from now on for each thread you answer to (and generally about new private messages)- OK?

Thank you both for your replies...

I will look up that link and see if they can supply me detail direct to Australia instead of via Germany... :D
I only found out they were there by a Facebook post, so unfortunately I did not have a lot of notice...

Amazing help! Really appreciate this, thank you!

Yes, I have a cabriolet mk1 Golf also... If the same part, I will not remove from mine, but I know someone who wrecks them locally...
That will be easy enough to find then, and postage on those items is not much anyhow...

I agree, the reason it is not available online is due to size prohibiting sensible postage...

I will follow all advice and hopefully get a result...

The Captain Carparts site has very little else for me... LOL

I have Mk1 Golf, B1 Passat and Mk5 Golf... The ONLY things they have are the Santana lights... hehehehehe
I have emailed asking if they can source me a "Kofferraumklappe" for an VW Santana... Yes I used English also... :D

Will keep people posted...

Anyone have recommendations on Coilovers for Karlos, and also my Mk1? I want lower priced, they will only be for street use, and our roads are reasonably good. No track use...

I am pressing my thumbs, as we say in German...

I would also prefer to mention the special situation about your car in Australia, as a further argument.

Yes! I did mention that there were only 9 so getting the part here was impossible... I hope this does not drive the price up... LOL

Thanks again to all on here for their advice and support...

I've had no reply from Captain Carparts.... :(
Nikalla sent me a link to another person selling, but I have had no reply from them either... Maybe my email is resulting in SPAM... :(

Sorry for awakening the old thread... I was trying to find that Captain Carparts site, but to no avail.

Does anyone know does the company still exist?

Best regards...

rudo1ph will not be looking for a boot lid anymore. The car was dissected at what now seems ages ago.

@ nord: Look into German Ebay for "CIT carparts" or google it - he still has a limited variety of 32b parts from China.
